Food HaulsOur family replenishes groceries every 2 weeks. With each food haul I take the time to wash, prep and organize the food to ensure everyone in the family can find something appealing that meets individual health and fitnes needs.
I’ve tried natural, gel, acrylic manicures, visited salons, tested dozens -maybe more polishes. There are so many options when doing nails at home; fast-drying, gel with a curing light, hardening, gel polish. The list is endless. I stopped visiting nail salons when I had my first child, almost 20 years ago. Until that point, and throughout my professional career, I was very proud of my well kept manicure. First, it was difficult to take along a baby. I didn’t feel that the chemical smells were very safe for young children either. Then, I simply felt that I no longer had the time. Finally, the ritual of in salon manicures no longer seemed like a practical use of family money. I read about health concerns when having your nails manicured in a public facility as well, so I just stopped going. I still polished my nails for the occasional night out, but that’s about it. One of the things I realized as I began on my journey of revamping my health and my image is that little things like doing nails made me feel good about myself. Everyone is different and I certainly do not judge anyone that likes to be natural. It’s much healthier anyway. But, for me having a nice manicure and keeping up my looks makes me feel good. Period. So I do my manicures at home now, regularly. I have been for quite a few years. It’s pretty simple actually. After taking a bath is the best time for me. I push back my cuticles, buff off the rough nails and file or trim. Next paint. I discovered this wonderful Miracle Gel Polish that I love. It’s so easy to use too. 2 coats of the base color. I’ve found that if I paint all of my fingers and toes its already dry enough to go back with the second coat. Once I’ve finished that It’s time to paint with the step 2 bottle (there are different options: glossy, matte, glitter) top coat. That’s it. Here are 2 of the bottles. I have tons of colors. As shown in the photo at the top, this polish gives professional level results and it is so easy. It’s fast and lasts for over a week for me. I do dishes and clean too. Of course everyone is different and I can’t guarantee the same results for everyone, but I love this product and use it regularly. You can find it in my Amazon Storefront at the link below. Gearing up for holiday fun is more than choosing the right outfit. Having loads of fun at any social event is more about feeling confident in our presence and demeanor. This is not always easy, and for women, aging can make these fancy events feel even more stressful. We all want to look glamorous when the time calls for it. This is not to say that we shouldn’t feel confident as we age. Quite the contrary. We should always feel good about where we are in life. I, personally, am attempting to age with grace and dignity and my youthful mentality. I do workout to stay healthy and in shape. I do love to wear fancy clothes and makeup to accentuate my qualities and hide the imperfections that I am not thrilled with. I have not, however, undergone the knife so to speak. No plastic surgeries, no injections or fillers. I do love some topical products that help a little with the lines and cellulite here and there. To be honest I do not feel like I am 51 - I still feel 30; and I truly believe we are younger 50 year olds than previous generations. The cliche’ 50 is the new 40. If you are on the lookout for some fantastic products that make you look and feel great, then… Read on for a few of my tested tricks that help me look and feel my best for fancy occasions.
